In 2016, God called me out of the world of manufacturing into the realm of full-time ministry. I am married to my beautiful wife Shawnc. Our marriage created a unique blended family. We love to hike, we love to bike, and we love to hit the country roads Jeepin! I am reminded by scripture that we are all a work in progress: “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” My work is to know Christ and to make Him known! It would be an honor to have you join us on this journey with Jesus.
I have been in public education as a shop teacher, agriculture teacher, and FFA Advisor beginning in the fall of 2010. My journey with my home church, CCC has included many different roles over those same years, and now at United, includes Youth Pastor. I am excited to engage with students in the welding shop at the high school during the school day and join our youth at youth group for the most important lessons of all. Jenna and I were married in 2009 and have 3 children. We are excited for youth to come to know Jesus and grow in his Grace and Truth!
I have grown up in the church and was raised in music since I was a kid. My wife, Jess and I have been involved in worship ministry since around 2010. In that, God showed us things we never expected. We developed relationships and witnessed first-hand God’s power and love. In 2014, we moved to Nashville TN to start a new chapter in our lives. In those years, I was fortunate enough to have co-written songs, produce multiple albums, and perform on stage with various Nashville artists. In 2020 God blessed us with our son Wesley, and in 2021, we felt called to move back to be with family. As of early 2023, I felt led to apply for the Worship Pastor position. The history I’ve had with United Christian Church has been short, yet deep, and I already feel God’s love in this Church family. I am proud to call this church family my church family, and I look forward to worshiping with you.
I have worked as an administrative assistant in medical, educational, hospitality, real estate, and finance offices through the years. I have been in my current role at the church for over 13 years. I am home! I love serving and helping others in their journey to know Jesus. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
My name is Tammie Young and I am the church counselor. It is a blessing and an honor to Serve God and the church in this capacity! I received my Master’s Degree in
Clinical Psychology from EIU in 1996. I worked for 10 years in the substance abuse field before beginning Christian counseling and ministry work in 1997. I have currently been with First Christian church followed by the merged United Christian Church since August of 2021. I am also the third and fourth-grade Paraprofessional at St. John’s Lutheran School. I have been happily married to Dan since 1986 and we have 3 kids, 2 grandkids, and a grand dog! Serving Christ, my family, and my church family are very important parts of my life!
